One Integrated Workforce

One Integrated Workforce (OIW) is a collaborative initiative by the Food and Drug Administration and state, local, territorial, and tribal (SLTT) partners to improve innovative and integrated human and animal food workforce approaches that support holistic multi-system regulatory approaches. OIW applies to multiple stakeholders in a complex and cross-cutting way requiring a strategic approach that blends education, engagement, professional development, and planning components. This is a vital, operationalized element of the Integrated Food Safety System for ensuring necessary food safety workforce capabilities and capacity levels aligned with modernized and efficient reguatlory approaches.
