Model for Local, Federal, and State Planning and Coordination of Field Operations and Training for Facility Inspections

The “Model for Local Federal/State Planning and Coordination of Field Operations and Training for Facility Inspections” is a Best Practices document developed by the PFP National Workplan Workgroup. This guide is designed to foster Domestic Mutual Reliance (DMR), a collaborative partnership between the FDA and state, local, tribal, and territorial agencies. By outlining strategies for coordinated inspections, sampling, compliance, enforcement, and training, the model aims to optimize the use of limited government resources and enhance the safety and security of the national food supply. It emphasizes effective communication and coordination to create an integrated food safety system.
