Outreach

The goal of the Outreach Workgroup is to communicate the importance and benefits of an integrated food safety system and mutual reliance, with a focus on the role the PFP plays in this effort. Outreach members help to increase visibility, awareness, support, and participation from managers, stakeholders, legislators, and appropriators of PFP activities. Through greater awareness, there is an increase in IFSS participation and support, helping further promote PFP’s vision for mutual reliance.

In the current strategic plan, the Outreach Workgroup continues to liaise with other workgroups while working to increase PFP’s network of stakeholder affiliates. Workgroup members ensure coverage of other groups’ activities and products in PFP communications. Outreach also continues to consider ways to develop new content and increase dissemination through a variety of channels (website, social media, email, newsletters, virtual and face-to-face conferences and meetings, etc.). The workgroup also serves as the PFP’s primary source to help share success stories about PFP, IFSS and examples of mutual reliance by writing, pitching, and publishing information.
